How CIT Helped
To reduce their efforts on preventing human error with quick Equipment Automation Process development cycle. CIT developed a flexible, easy to maintain solutions for UMC 300mm Fab engineers.

To help UMC and implement CIT provided functional and technical expertise in project planning, technical architecture, middleware development, methodology and equipment process steps development.

In the past, CIT has implemented UMC Group 200mm equipment automation process system which have typically concentrated on simplify Fab engineers transactions to custom-built solution. As for 300mm solution, CIT has effectively interfaced its solution with UMC's Manufacturing Execution system and an architectural framework that would support future intranet and internet-based solutions. This architecture was designed so that it could first be used for basic Fab engineers applications and then reused to support future equipment types, controlling steps and scenario.

As the project progressed, there was a conscious emphasis on the structure transfer of knowledge and skills from the CIT team to the UMC CIM team. As a result of UMC professionals are well prepared to address the ongoing maintenance and growth of the equipment automation process system.
